As the world continues to open after COVID-19 closures, the adjustment to a new normal in the meetings and events sphere develops and new tools are created to ensure safety and best practices in the return to in-person events. The AH Meetings & Events staff have added the Pandemic Compliance Advisor (PCA) Certification for Meeting Professionals from Health Education Services to their toolkit of expertise to ensure that safe practices are implemented, communicated, and effectively carried out throughout the entire event. The first group completed this certification course in early April 2021, while the next wave of courses is currently in progress.

“Association Headquarters is committed to ongoing training for all of our meeting professionals,” says Beth Mauro, AH’s Senior Director of Client Services. “Our meeting professionals are passionate about producing best-in-class meetings whether they are virtual, in-person, or hybrid. Across the board, our team members have been proactively seeking education through a variety of outside resources, peer-to-peer sharing, and vendor-sponsored programs. Our senior meeting professionals also actively participate in programming for peers outside of AH by presenting webinars or participating in panels and discussion groups through professional groups like GPPCMA and MASAE.”

The uncertainty surrounding the return to in-person meetings may cause several industries to maintain the current structure of hosting hybrid and virtual events. To be better prepared for an inevitable conversion back to in-person events, the AH Meetings & Events Managers are working to complete this PCA certifications course.
