Association Headquarters Takes Home Three Industry Achievement Awards for Excellence

MOUNT LAUREL, NJ – August 22, 2013 —The marketing and communication (MarCom) team at AH was recently recognized with three industry achievement awards for excellence in creative design, public relations, and social media.

Shortly after the launch of the company’s refreshed brand, the AH Creative and Marketing teams were recognized with the Hermes Creative Award for the design of the new business publication, We Understand the View from Where You Sit.

The Hermes Creative Awards are administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP), a group consisting of several thousand professionals involved in producing marketing and communication materials for external or internal audiences. The Association oversees awards and recognition programs, provides judges and sets standards for excellence. The competition is open to all individuals, companies, and organizations. The Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) recognizes organizations each year with the most prestigious award in the industry— the Silver Anvils. The award recognizes complete public relations programs incorporating measurable and sound research, planning, execution, and evaluation.

The AH Communications team was recognized with the Silver Anvil Award of Excellence for its integrated communications campaign with client partner Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA). The awareness campaign, COORDinate a Safe and Sound Zone — Monitoring Your Nursery Inside and Out, was launched after infant deaths were reported to be caused by strangulation by unsafe baby monitor cords.

The goal of the awareness campaign was to educate parents and caregivers about the dangers of putting baby monitors within reach of infants and toddlers and prevent future strangulations. Since the launch of the campaign, awareness of the issue increased by more than 98 percent, with more than 53 million media impressions achieved. As a result, no new injuries were reported due to cord strangulation. Out of nearly 850 submissions, the entry was one of only 144 finalists for the Silver Anvil Awards.

The AH Communications team was also recognized by the PRSA Philadelphia chapter at the association’s annual reception with an award for MarCom’s accomplishments with the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO). Additionally, the team won two chapter awards for the JPMA awareness campaign, including a public service announcement video.

“Being innovative is a key component of our company’s vision,” said Bob Waller, CAE, President and CEO of AH. “This recognition for AH and our staff’s work on behalf of our client partners is acknowledgment that we are fulfilling this promise and are helping to advance organizations to greatness. It is truly an honor to be recognized by the leading communications industry groups in the world.”
