We asked some of our AH leaders how they plan to enhance efficiency, focus strategically, and create successful team structures for the coming year. Here's what they had to say.

Kelly Mariotti, Corporate Segment Leader: Structure Supports Strategy
"We resolve to ensure each client team is using its staff members efficiently and effectively and that the team is structured and staffed in such a way as to support the board's strategic initiatives. Teams evolve over time and often in response to tactical, not strategic needs. This can result in a team with a set of skills, which, although valuable, don't align with the skills needed to achieve the outcomes of the strategic plan. Take a look at your organization's strategic plan and ask yourself if you are accountable for the outcomes of the plan. Do you have the right people in the right seats to follow through not just on this year's tactics, but until the goal is achieved? Even if you have the right people, do their job descriptions reflect outcomes or tasks? Structuring your team in a way that supports the strategic plan will ensure focus, efficiency, and that success is within reach!"

Patrice Sminkey, Credentialing Segment Leader: Segment Work Aligns Strategically
"We are committed to leveraging the expertise in the segment (leadership, strategic planning, and certification) to identify opportunities for AH within the existing client partners and to support new business development for external AH opportunities."

Amy Barra, Scientific Segment Leader: Segments Advance Goals
"As a segment we want to meet the goals of the client partners, but we also want to meet the goals of our team members. We aim to make sure that each team member is clear on their personal and professional goals, and has a road map to meet their goals and the goals of the their clients."

Jodi Araujo, Entreprenurial Segment Leader: Efficiently Using the Right Tools
"We will successfully implement the level 10 process at the segment level, and subsequently at the client team level with each executive director. We will get the right people in the right seat with the right tools to support the segment efficiently and effectively."

Victoria Elliott, Allied Health Segment Leader: Analyzing Staff Responsibilities
"I resolve to ensure that each client team is adequately and efficiently staffed to meet the agreed upon scope of work with each executive director responsible for utilization reports and quarterly assessments of utilization and plans to change/improve."

Can you apply any of these plans to your organization? Tell us how in the comments! Happy New Year!
