One of the many goals of the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses Society™ (WOCN®) is to be the driving force in promoting research to enhance the wound, ostomy and continence (WOC) specialty practice. Managing pressure ulcers (bed sores) is an integral part of a WOC nurse’s daily responsibilities, and the society wanted to provide nurses with an algorithm to select an appropriate support surface for use in preventing and treating pressure ulcers.
Find out how WOCN® worked with the AH design team to create a medical algorithm in their Journal, which was then made into a web app for an easy to access tool for nurses in the field.
