On behalf of AH, I am saddened to share with you that our long-time employee, friend, and leader, Patrice Sminkey died quietly and unexpectedly in her sleep on Thursday, September 22.
Patrice was CEO of one of our client partners, The Commission for Case Manager Certification (the Commission), and since joining the Commission in 2010, Patrice infused the organization with energy and a keen focus on their mission to advocate for professional case manager excellence. Her efforts were the foundation for significant growth in the number of board-certified case managers over that period, as well as development of robust education and professional development tools to support an informed, relevant and expanding case manager workforce.
The Board, her peers, the nonprofit and case management industry, and our AH family respected and admired her hard work and perhaps Patrice's greatest gift to the Commission was her innate understanding of the value of building relationships and partnering with like-minded leaders.
While we pause to grieve the loss of a leader, friend and colleague, the Commission team will continue to advance their mission --just as she would expect.
Many of you worked personally with Patrice over the years. Please join me and the AH team by honoring her passion and commitment to our industry.
Sincerely,
Bob Waller, CAE
