MT. LAUREL, N.J. – December 2, 2014 — At a time when people are traveling and looking for the best deal on the hottest new toy, a South Jersey association management company is focused on giving back. AH participated in MANNA’s “Pie in the Sky Campaign,” selling over 145 pies for the Thanksgiving holiday to raise money for MANNA, an organization that provides meals to the sick and homebound throughout the entire year.
"Every day, AH gets the opportunity to work with amazing non-profit associations to help them achieve their mission and vision,” said AH CEO Bob Waller, Jr., CAE. “In addition our staff believes in social responsibility and gives back to our community throughout the year. Giving Tuesday provides us with the chance to join a global platform focused on what we can all do to give back."
AH takes part in community service efforts on Giving Tuesday and every Tuesday. June brings the annual AH Alex’s Lemonade Stand for the organization’s “Lemonade Days” event. In September, staff collect backpacks and school supplies for Camp Freedom in Camden, an afterschool program for kids in grades K-12th. In 2013, AH was named by Habitat for Humanity as “Habitat Business of the Year,” recognizing the many builds staff has taken part in. Every holiday season, along with the MANNA program, gifts or needed supplies are collected for other groups or associations that need assistance. This December, AH is “adopting” local animal shelters, collecting food and other needed items.
Those are just the “regular” initiatives AH plans. During the year, whenever there is a need, staff rises to the challenge. When there was a recent food shortage at the Camden County Animal Shelter, in less than two days, food and monetary donations totaled $200. When a staff member’s husband passed away, a collection for the Wounded Warrior Foundation, a cause he was passionate about, yielded $300. Waller added, “It is such a privilege for me to be associated with such an amazing group of people who are willing to give back throughout the year to the community and those who live in it.”
