This past week, there were about 15 AH staff members in attendance at the 2014 Mid-Atlantic Society of Association Executives (MASAE) Annual Conference in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The theme of the conference this year was, Sharpening Your Competitive Edge. AH sure showed their presence this year with five staff members giving three presentations over the course of 2 days! And with the holidays around the corner, we considered this our "present" to the industry.

Kim Karagosian, senior director of MarCom, presented a workshop about how to Rock Your Content Marketing Strategy and used music titles to coincide with her main points — very clever!

Thriller content strategy: What’s all the hype around content generation and how does it tie into your marketing strategy?

We Built This City on great content: Discover ways to build your content portfolio and get access to a template to get you started or help enhance your current strategy.

You Oughta Know: Content curation tools to help you become an expert and educator to your volunteer leaders.

Can’t Take My Eyes Off You, technology: Inbound marketing technology solutions to understand who’s visiting your website and downloading your content.

This session was very popular. Kim has presented this at previous meetings and has received great feedback. Download the presentation at the link above!

The next workshop driven by AH was presented by President & CEO Bob Waller, Senior Director of Technology George Rears and Business Analyst Colleen Coleman.

This was a highly interactive and real-life based session that demonstrated how using a proven five-step methodology will improve results and lower risk. Every association has different technology needs, however the same methodology may be used to successfully determine what solution is best for each one and to support the successful implementation of the solution with confidence, on time, and on budget!

The final workshop was presented by Jessica Keenan Smith, director of education and member services, called Fundraising Elements to Plan Your Membership Campaign. The session focused on how key fundraising tools, such as the donor pyramid, the fundraising lifecycle, and the pipeline, can make or break your membership marketing. The session left attendees with the tools needed to plan a successful campaign, set priorities, find constituents, and exceed fundraising goals.

AH also received this year's "Positive Impact Award" from MASAE presented to client partner JPMA for their consumer-facing brand, The Baby Safety Zone. Chief Executive Relationship Officer for AH and JPMA President Mike Dwyer accepted this award.
