MOUNT LAUREL, NJ – July 13, 2012 — Assoication Headquarters (AH), a professional services firm located in the Philadelphia area, announces that two Executive Directors, Elizabeth “Libby” McDannell and Theresa “TC” Field, have received the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation from the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).

The CAE designation is designed to elevate professional standards, enhance individual performance, and identify association professionals who demonstrate the knowledge essential to the practice of association management.

Earning and maintaining the CAE is a three-part process. Candidates must first meet eligibility requirements of at least 5 years of experience at a qualifying non-profit organization and submit an application. The next step is to sit for and pass the CAE exam. Once a candidate has earned the credential they must maintain it by fulfilling certification renewal requirements every 3 years.

Libby McDannell started as a Membership Coordinator at AH in 2001. In 2002 McDannell was promoted to Executive Director, and in her time at AH she’s managed several client partners, including the International Pediatric Transplant Association (IPTA), the American Association for Aerosol Research (AAAR), and the Church Benefits Association (CBA) before moving to the American Society of Transplantation (AST) in 2009.

TC Field, a former professional figure skater, has been a member of the AH team since 2005, where she also began as a Membership Coordinator. She held various other positions throughout the years, and in 2011 was promoted to Executive Director of IPTA.

As Executive Directors, McDannell and Field manage the day-to-day operations of their respective organizations, and ensure that the vision and mission are executed. “We’re very proud of Libby and TC. Their achievement exemplifies the levels to which our employees strive to better themselves professionally, while also improving the service they can provide to our client partners,” said AH President and CEO Bob Waller, CAE. “The dedication of staff members like Libby and TC is the reason we have achieved awards such as SmartCEO Top 100 Best Run Companies and the Philadelphia Business Journal Best Places to Work.”

Through the CAE program, association professionals have the opportunity to pursue continuing education, increase their industry involvement, and gain industry-wide recognition by achieving the CAE designation. McDannell and Field join the ranks of 15 CAEs at AH. According to ASAE, AH staff is the most credentialed in the industry.
