MOUNT LAUREL, N.J. – August 23, 2011— AH, a Philadelphia area-based professional services firm, is proud to announce that Account Executive MaryBeth Kurland, CAE, has been chosen to join a select few who represent the best, as well as the future, of the association community as a TRENDS 2011 Young & Aspiring Association Professional.
In order to be considered for this prestigious recognition by Association TRENDS, an industry trade newsletter, nominees must be 40 or younger and have at least 5 years of mid-level to senior association management experience. Nominees must also be active and well-respected in the association community at the national, regional, state, or local level.
According to Association TRENDS, “In a crowded event, [the 2011 winners] are the ones who are surrounded by peers and older executives. You see them volunteering their time at their own professional affiliation’s events, equally happy to do the grunt work as they are to have the limelight shining on them.”
The announcement of the TRENDS 2011 Young & Aspiring Association Professionals will be made in the August 2011 Special Focus issue of Association TRENDS and each professional will be honored on stage at the TRENDS 2012 Salute to Association Excellence Feb. 10 at the Capital Hilton in Washington, D.C.
Kurland joined the staff at AH in 2007 as the executive director of two associations. After successfully leading the associations through the development of widely praised business plans and the launch of a social media strategy, Kurland was appointed Chief Operating Officer of the Commission for Case Manager Certification (CCMC), a certification body representing more than 31,000 certificants.
“We are very excited to see MaryBeth receive recognition as a Young & Aspiring Association Professional,” said AH's President and CEO Bob Waller, CAE. “She is well-respected by her peers, and her depth and breath of experiences are an asset to both AH and our client partners.”
In addition to her dedication to AH, Kurland is also committed to growing her professional career and the association industry. She is an active member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and the Membership Committee Chair for the Mid-Atlantic Society of Association Executives (MASAE).
